Why should parents be involved in child’s education and career planning

It is in the market since ages but cannot be taken on the face value. Parents cannot accept child’s opinion without any logic and conviction.

I get many students who are adamant to become actor or cricketer or singer or even Bill Gates without having any plan, proficiency or even having done any activities in the relevant area and knowing the struggle, competition nepotism and finance needed. They all have perceived High dreams with the stories of many well-known person without knowing the facts and having back up plans.

We must understand that no parent would like their child to be unhappy in the life. They want their child to have best career and respect in the life. They advise their child to take up the career with their knowledge and experience with thinking best for him/her . They may be right or wrong but we must respect their reasons. It is very a thin line between “in accepting that the child is telling with understanding and maturity, interest in the specific field” or “is influenced and have perception or apprehension and fear”.

Parents have most important role to play in nurturing and guiding the career of their children
